Why I won't be buying a Toyota Yaris.

This is a Toyota Yaris or as many people have pointed out to me, a Clown Car. It's very small and maybe even cute...to some people. And it's very economical as well. (It got us to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in one tank of gas.) But it's not exactly family friendly...especially when your family has more than two people in it.
For the past two weeks I've been stuffing my 3 children into the back seat of this two door econo car. What makes it even more fun is two of the these children still need help getting buckled into their car seats. Marin's favorite part is being squished between two car seats. My favorite part is counting how many times I hear, "Mom, so and so is touching me." Chris' favorite part is being within hand holding range of his wife.

Why am I doing this, you ask. Why would I give up my spacious and roomy minivan with it's DVD player and oodles of storage space? Well, it has nothing to do with the "Going Green" movement. I was rear ended on the freeway. Fortunately everyone was okay, even the other driver. But my van was totalled and the nice man at the rental shop very apologetically handed over the keys to the largest car they had in stalk...a two door Yaris.

We should soon receive the settlement check. Hopefully we get enough money to upgrade from the Yaris.

I'm so sorry! I do not envy that at all. I do how ever want someone to rear end me and total my car.

I saw you in it! It is SMALL! I hope you can get a new one soon. It is funny though and such an adventure, I'm sure, to squeeze everyone in!
