Play Date

Ellinor has never been a big fan of the male species. This was a conversation we had before preschool started this past fall.

Ell, "Mom, tell Mrs. Greene not to make me sit by any boys."
Me, "I'm sure Mrs. Greene won't make you sit by anyone you don't want to."
Ell, "Just tell her, Mom, so she knows."

I'm not sure what brought on this boy phobia. I like to tell myself it's just because I'm so much nicer and cuter than her dad that naturally she would gravitate to females. But maybe I pushed the coed play dates a little too soon.

This is Ell and B. Both under one. We all know these "play dates" are not actually for the kids.
Thankfully kids are resilient. Ell has come a long way since the beginning of preschool. I've even heard her ask when B can come over again. Here they are on one such occasion. Ell was "teaching" B how to make a Mii on the Wii.
(Look, she's sitting by a BOY.)

I love these pictures, especially the baby one! They really are starting to play quite well together (most of the time) & it only took 4 years of forced play dates. Well worth it!

I guess dad needs to have more play dates with Ell, so that she'll sit by him.
